Product Description

A new suspense/comedy from first time writer/director James Ward. Identity Theft tells the story of Matt Walker (Ward), a man who has won the state lottery, and thinks he has found the woman of his dreams in the beautiful and mysterious Karen Bristol (Laura Weintraub of TNN's Roller Jam). She's smart, gorgeous and wants him for his body...only trouble is that's all she wants him for. Matt wakes up the next morning to discover that his mind is now in Karen's body and the person now in his body is a century's old body thief that moves from body to body whenever the mood strikes him. Now forced out onto the street, the new 'Karen' discovers that she is penniless and wanted by the police. Desperate, 'she' turns to her lecherous best friend Brian (Michael Cole) and bitter ex-girlfriend Lisa (Rachel Hardy) for help. Will Matt be able to get his life back or will 'she' have to spend the rest of her life as a victim of Identity Theft!

LOVED IT!

LOVED IT! Best film ever made by anyone who read my book "$30 Film School." Seriously.

This movie was a joy to watch, and I forgot at points that I was watching an independent production. It's incredibly well written, acted, directed and edited.

Usually small, indie films made by first time writer-directors are fluff pieces that are immature and have no storyline or characters. FINALLY someone that knows what they're doing! Pulling a hat trick like Charlie Chaplin or Jerry Lewis, James Ward wrote/produced/filmed/directed/edited/AND starred (!!!) in his featured length movie about a body-switching entity that takes command of another's body for great wealth. Using local talent, Ward's film is neither pretentious nor self-gratifying, making his self-made movie a delight to watch. Also included are bloopers, audio commentary, and more. Don't miss out!

My DVD of Identity Theft came today and I could not wait to watch it! I can honestly say that this is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time!

I found it to be an intelligent, suspenseful, funny, thought provoking film! The entire cast delivered star quality performances!

This is one movie that I will recommend highly to friends and family and I look forward to seeing more movies by this very talented writer/director!

Very well done! :)
Witty and compelling, mystery comedy sprinkled with horror

Wow! A hidden gem. A likable hero has just won 50,000,000 dollars. Lucky? Maybe not! He meets an impossibly beautiful woman, very well played by Laura Weintraub ( where has she been, we need to see more of her!) Going to his bedroom we see a flash of the mostly delightfully wicked smile from the woman. The next morning the poor hero has woken up to find his life stolen!! he is now 'Karen' and the person now in his old body has the fifty million.

Most of the rest of film is taken up with his/her trying to get his body back and the person now in his former body has not made it easy! Many LOL scenes with him trying to adjust to being a beautiful woman. My wife laughed at him trying to be female. She even shouted advice at the screen! Wait till you see how he has to make a living.

Extremely well plotted with many unexpected twists and turns. Both comic, tragic and suspenseful. The acting is at least good and often excellent. Be sure and watch the movie till the end of the credits to catch the brilliant ending!
Very entertaining

Very impressive effort, especially for a first feature! No matter the budget, a good film has to have a solid story and be fun to watch. This movie nails it. The story is compelling, the editing and pacing is tight and overall I really enjoyed watching it (I've seen it several times too). It's a really fun movie to watch! Loved the ending too.
